Wearing of mask compulsory in East Garo Hills

TURA: The East Garo Hills District Magistrate, Swapnil Tembe, has promulgated Section 144 of the CrPC in the entire district thereby making the wearing of face mask, face cover mandatory in public places, making all the persons in-charge of work places, public places and transport responsible for ensuring social distancing.

The order also prohibited gathering of 5 or more people in public places and spitting in public places.

Further, the order said that the funerals will be regulated by the magistrates on duty and not more than 20 people will be allowed.

This order will remain in force till 3 May next.
