Free AAY, PHH Rice, Dal released in WGH

TURA: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh has informed that an additional allotment of Rice and Dal under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yozana (free of cost) has been released to the beneficiaries of AAY and PHH card holders in the district.

Under the scheme, Rice in the scale of 5Kg per beneficiary per month for two months (April-May) and Dal in the scale of 1Kg per card for the month of April are being distributed to the beneficiaries, which began on Monday. Rice and Dal is being delivered by the wholesalers free of cost to every FP shop centre to be distributed to the beneficiaries as per NFSA, 2013.

The Block Development Officers of Rongram, Dalu and Gambegre under Tura Sadar Division have also been directed to monitor the distribution in their respective blocks so that the objective of providing free ration is achieved in rural areas.

All FP shop dealers have also been instructed to display stock signboards and to maintain the timing of opening their shops from 8 AM to 4 PM on working days for the convenience of the beneficiaries.
