Cop, accomplice held with drugs

JOWAI: A constable along with his accomplice was arrested on Monday while attempting to smuggle heroin into Jaintia Hills, a report said.
The constable travelled from Jowai in police uniform to avoid checking by the authorities. Foiling their attempt, a joint team of ANTF East Jaintia Hills, Lumshnong PS, Umkiang PP & Ratacherra CP apprehended the two persons — constable Chwamiki Lyngdoh (28) and Wyrai Chyrmang (21) — and seized 3.33 grams of heroin from their possession. It may be mentioned that Lyngdoh is already under suspension.
A case in the matter has been registered.
