NONGPOH: The District Magistrate of Ri Bhoi, in an order on Thursday, advised all fair price shops to open on Friday and Saturday between 9 am and 5 pm.
Identified groceries and essential items shops will open in all the localities of the district on the said days for 8 hours so as to meet the requirements of the local residents, the order said.
Informing that shops dealing in sale and courier of essentials, Common Service Centres (CSCs) and repair shops will be allowed to function, the district magistrate said that local headmen (Rangbah Shnong) in coordination with the district police will regulate the operation of the shops in their respective localities & villages and ensure that protocols are adhered to.
All agriculture and allied sectors as well as healthcare and medical activities and MNREGA works will also be allowed with strict implementation of social distancing and compulsory wearing of face mask, the district magistrate added.
The DM further informed that such arrangements will be made in the days to come and the public will be informed well in advance.
