SHILLONG: Meghalaya’s  Education Department has announced the launch of the e-Scholar portal (http://Niceinfotech.co.in) on pilot basis to enable all Secondary School students to access study materials barring Modern Indian Language (MIL) as per the MBoSE syllabus.

However, with a major population in the state still deprived of internet connectivity, the Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said that the portal was only meant to keep the students engaged and was not a substitute to classroom teaching.

“This is to engage the students who have facilities. It is not a replacement to class room teaching. But instead of students do not have to do anything as it is provided through different platforms. This one will provides all study materials as per MBoSE syllabus. As I said it’s not a substitute to class room teaching”, he said.
