SHILLONG: The AdventuRers team comprising of Khalid Khan, Ooma, Susuki Pariat, Suresh Singh, and Kailash Varma presented Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma with 228 face shields for COVID warriors.
The chief minister was appreciative of the initiative taken by the members. They even gave him a write up on how face shields increase the efficiency of a face mask.
During the meeting with the CM, they also discussed about the citizens of Meghalaya who were stranded in different parts of the country even as the team urged him to bring them back, while giving top priority to the safety of the citizens of the state.
Verma said the face shields have been made with the support of the staff of Delhi Mistan at the upper storey, which is now devoid of any customers, and business. “It protects the mucus membranes of the lips nose and eyes from coming into contact with body fluids, and gives an extra physical barrier to the mask and was found to be very effective,” he said.
Later, the team also went to Ganesh Das Hospital and handed over fresh clothes for newborns mostly collected by Susuki. The hospital authorities were also happy with their contribution.
