SHILLONG: Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) state youth wing president, Thomas Passah suggested that Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma should utilise the MLA scheme of Rs 2 crore to help the poor families.
In a statement issued here, Passah said that the scheme of Rs 2 crore should be routed through the respective Deputy Commissioners of the 11 districts to ensure there is no partiality.
He came up with the suggestion as he observed that there are many daily wage labourers who are struggling to make ends meet during the crisis.
Passah said that there are many daily wage labourers who have applied for government assistance for Rs 1000 and Rs 700 were rejected and has appealed to the government to look into the matter.
