New Delhi : The entire Delhi unit of the BJP on Tuesday lashed out at the Arvind Kejriwal government on Tuesday demanding that the decision to increase the prices of petrol and diesel by the Delhi government be immediately withdrawn.

Members of parliament, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly and Delhi BJP chief all joined in the chorus. Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said, “Such a huge increase in the prices of petrol and diesel is like a thunder strike on the people of Delhi, it will also increase the price of many essential commodities, it is a fraud with Delhi.” He claimed this will also increase the value of many essential commodities through a ripple effect.

Delhi government has increased VAT on petrol from 27 per cent to 30 per cent, while VAT on diesel has been increased from 16.75 to 30 per cent due to which petrol price has increased by Rs 1.67 and diesel by Rs 7.10 per litre.

BJP leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri alleged that farmers, lower class, middle class and transporters will also have to bear the double whammy of economic crisis in times of corona pandemic, all due to the Delhi government’s decision to hike petrol prices in the national capital.

Hitting out at the Delhi CM, BJP MP Pravesh Sahib Singh said, “Marginalising the health and economic condition of the people of Delhi, the Kejriwal government is engaged in filling the treasury of the Aam Aadmi Party.”
