Authorities disinfect West Khasi Hills village

NONGSTOIN: To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the authorities of Pyndengumiong Mairang village, West Khasi Hills with the help of the office of the SDO Civil Mairang on Saturday sanitised public places and market area where health workers were seen spraying disinfectants.
The village authority along with the SDO Civil Mairang also announced that no individuals were allowed to come out during the disinfection and a total shutdown has also been announced for Sunday.
Public places like taxi stands, market areas, roadside and iron railings were disinfected.
People were seen cooperating and all shops and even the market area were all shut down.
Micheal Kharmuti, Rangbah Dong of Lummaralong, Pyndengumiong said it is the second time that the village authority has conducted the exercise in public areas and the main objective is to prevent the villagers and the general public from coronavirus.
