Commercial activities for five days in EJH

Khliehriat: An official notification issued here on Wednesday informed that only those commercial activities intimated to the District Magistrate shall open in East Jaintia Hills with effect from May 18 to 31, until further orders.
According to the order, commercial activities which include food processing units, brick kilns, and industrial units are permitted to open for five days from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.
Other activities permitted to operate are agriculture and allied sectors activities like farming, poultry, fishery and hatcheries collection, processing and distribution of milk, milk product and cold storage.
MGNREGA works are also permitted with strict implementation of social distancing and wearing of face masks.
The district magistrate has also permitted operations of 50% of private and public transport in the district.
Tea stalls in rural areas are also allowed to function with strict protocols to be followed failing which the stall will be closed. However those along the National Highway are barred.
