SHILLONG: Police have debunked the credibility of a video purportedly showing a landslide along the national highway of the state. In the wake of cyclone ‘Amphan’ wrecking havoc in West Bengal and Odisha, the state netizens on Thursday made viral a video, prompting the police officials to verify its authenticity. “On receiving the information about  the video clip which is going viral, Meghalaya Police immediately verified the information and found that the incident, as captured in the video clip, is completely unrelated to the current inclement weather which has transpired due to the Super Cyclonic Storm ‘Amphan’,” a statement from the police said. The police also confirmed that the incident had happened along the highway between the settlements of Chiangjur and Sukanagara in Indonesia. The police have also urged the general public to refrain from sharing the video clip.
