Sonamura: A Tripura States Rifles Jawan (TSR), who had fled from a quarantine centre, was found hanging from a tree in a rubber plantation at Tarapada village under Bisramganj Police station in Tripura on Friday.
According to police, Swapon Tripura, a constable of 11 Battalion, TSR, had escaped from a departmental quarantine centre few days ago.
Sepahijala Superintendent of Police Krishnendu Chakraborty said the jawan was absent without leave some days back.
After he returned, his department had put him under quarantine at Pathaliaghat on May 14. However, he escaped from there.
The owner of the rubber plantation, who was collecting latex in the early morning, found the jawan’s naked body hanging from a tree today. A team of police then rushed to the spot.
