SHILLONG: In view of shortage of buses, there is a demand to change the government office timing from 9 am to 3 pm.
Referring to media reports on government servants violating social distancing in buses, John F Kharshiing, Adviser & Spokesperson, Federation of Khasi States, said that the state government should look into matter with urgency. He also pointed out even if only 15 or 20 people have to be in one bus, hundreds of government servants coming out of office at the same time will reach home only at 9 pm and added to the problem is the curfew starting from 7 pm.
To resolve the issue, the state government should consider changing the office timing from 9 am to 3 pm so as to achieve effective social distancing, he added.
