SHILLONG: Health and Family Welfare Minister, AL Hek has asserted that the department would verify the complaints which it has received about poor facilities and delay in serving of the food in some of the quarantine centres in Jaintia Hills.
“The complaint has come to me and the department would verify them,” Hek said while inspecting the arrangements in five quarantine centres situated in Pynthorumkhrah constituency.
The constituency has five quarantine centres including two each in Nongmynsong and Mawpat and one in Pynthorumkhrah.
Hek said that he found the arrangements in the quarantine centre quite satisfactory.
During the visit, Hek along with members of the Mebaan Security and Service Organisation also interacted with the returnees besides distributing food to them and other ASHA and Anganwadi workers who are working in the centres.
