MAWKYRWAT: Mawkyrwat MLA Renikton L Tongkhar on Monday distributed hand sanitiser to the drivers of passenger vehicles in South West Khasi Hills District.
The MLA advised the drivers to keep sanitiser in their vehicles.
According to the Sumo Association, Tourist Taxi Association and Taxi Association, there are 252 taxis in Mawkyrwat, 78 tourist taxis and 51 Sumos plying from Mawkyrwat to Shillong and vice-versa. All these vehicles will get at least one hand sanitiser per vehicle. The sanitisers were handed over to the leaders of the associations for distribution among the members.
