Nongpoh: In a commendable job, a young boy hailing from Nongjri Village in Ri Bhoi District rescued five cubs of Small Indian Civet from a nearby forest on May 26.
Narrating the story of the rescue, 15-year-old Lumlang Thangkhiew said that on May 26 around 9 am in the morning, he heard the shriek of the cubs that were drenched in rain while he was following his mother to work.
Thangkhiew had initially thought the cubs to be kittens.
He then took the cubs home and later handed over to Wanphai Lyngdoh, Forester-I of the Wildlife Department, Nongpoh Range at Nongpoh.
