Home Secy Bhalla among ‘influential Indians’

NEW DELHI: Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, an officer of Assam-Meghalaya IAS cadre, as been adjudged as an influential Indian by the rating based “Fame India” magazine.
In fact, recently, in the Fame India magazine’s list of influential Indians Bhalla stands at 29th place. He is a 1984 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre and served Meghalaya for some years.
Bhalla is now leading the country’s fight against the pandemic in his capacity as Chairperson, National Executive Committee under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.  He is handling the work of the Ministry of Home, which is the nodal agency in managing law and order, internal security amid the COVID crisis.
Bhalla occupies the leading position in the influential bureaucrats 2019 of India Magazine – Asia Post on key points like quick decision-making ability, superb governance skills, foresight, excellent thinking, seriousness and tact efficiency, and accountable functioning.
He is believed to have been chosen for the crucial Home Ministry for his reputation as a skilled strategist and visionary bureaucrat besides vast experience in Assam.
