IIM Shillong professor cremated in city

SHILLONG: The 34-year-old assistant professor of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong, who hanged himself on Thursday, was cremated in the city on Friday in the presence of his family members who arrived from Kolkata.
SP (City), Bikram Marak, on Friday, said that the police have registered a case of unnatural death.
“We are taking it as pure suicide case as of now and investigating into it for more details,” he said.
All the legal formalities have been completed and police have not recovered any suicide note from the place of occurrence of the incident.
The body was handed over to the family and he was later cremated in Jhalupara.
