GUWAHATI: A resident of Meghalaya who had returned from Agra, Uttar Pradesh has tested positive for COVID-19. Person is under quarantine in Jowai, West Jaintia Hills District.
With the new case total number of COVID-19 positive case in Meghalaya stands at 31 including 17 active cases, 13 recovered cases and one death.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Wednesday visited the community quarantine facility at Songsak Agalgre, East Garo Hills district and had an interaction with the individual under quarantine. The CM told the person not to worry and to duly follow safety precautions. He also presented the assistance through CM’s Relief Fund to the Nokma.
“Each Community COVID-19 Committee in Meghalaya is supporting the government by setting up community quarantine facilities for the residents returning from other States. Thanked and handed over the assistance through CM’s Relief Fund to Father J. B Sangma of St. Francis School, Songsak,” tweeted the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also inspected the transit camp at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Songsak with the MLA of Williamnagar, M Marak. The facility is being used for residents returning from other States before they are transported to their respective villages in East Garo Hills district.
