TURA: Failure of an SBI branch manager to take action with regard to a complaint over a malfunctioning ATM has prompted the GSU from Ampati in South West Garo Hills to complain against the official to the Deputy Commissioner.

According to the union, the ATM and the updating machine installed at the SBI Branch in Ampati have been malfunctioning since the last few months and a complaint in this regard was made to the Branch Manager. However the union claimed that the official neither took notice of the complaint nor took steps to restore the faulty machines.

“In this time of Covid-19 situation, the people are facing problems due to the non-functional machines. The branch manager is not looking after his responsibilities and has also ignored our complaints,” union president, Salman D Sangma said.

The union urged the DC to intervene and to direct the official to either repair the malfunctioning machines or to replace them with new ones as early as possible.
