JHADC UDP member joins NPP

JOWAI: A member of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), J Treilang Suchiang of Shangpung Constituency has quit the United Democratic Party (UDP) and joined the National People’s Party (NPP) camp.
The district NPP Unit, West Jaintia Hills welcomed Suchiang and felicitated him at the party office at Loom-Soo-Iung, Jowai on Thursday.
With Suchiang joining the party, the strength of the NPP-led executive committee with Thombor Shiwat as the CEM has gone up to 28 in the House of 30.
When asked why he decided to join NPP, Suchiang said he did not want to disclose the reason.
