Complete lockdown in Guwahati city likely from tomorrow evening

GUWAHATI: In view of spike in social transmission of COVID-19 in Guwahati city in the last few days, the authorities are likely to put the city under complete lockdown from June 26 evening.

Sources said average 100 COVID-19 positive cases  per day have been detected in the city during the last three days and at present there are about 650 active COVID-19 positive cases in Guwahati city.

Meanwhile, the state health department has activated all 31 Covid Counselling Centres (CCCs) in each and every ward of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and urged the citizens of Guwahati to use these facilities and come forward for voluntary testing for COVID-19.

Covid Counselling Centers is  a proactive initiative by the Government of Assam to combat the rising curve of COVID-19 in the city.
