NONGSTOIN: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU), on Wednesday, reiterated its demand for providing various health facilities at Riangdo CHC with the state government.
The KSU maintained that despite demands made earlier in this matter the government has not taken any step so far.
In a memorandum to the MLA & MDC of Mawshynrut, the union said that the civil sub-division has not seen any developmental works.
It lamented that all the work is being done in Nongstoin while Mawshynrut, despite being upgraded into a civil-sub division, has been forsaken.
The union asked the government to constitute various departments such as PHE, Water Resource, Education et al, and turn it into a full-fledged civil sub-division.
With regard to the lack of facilities at Riangdo CHC, the KSU asked the government to upgrade the number of beds to 50 from 30, besides X-Ray and Ultrasound machine, appointment of a full-fledged SDMO, a pediatric as well as gynecologist, and more man power including nurses and doctors in the CHC.
The local legislator, Gigur Myrthong, assured the union to take up their demand with the government and follow it up as top priority.
