WKH Police arrests one for ‘murder’

SHILLONG: West Khasi Hills Police has arrested one person for murder in Mairang.
West Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Herbert Lyngdoh said that on Tuesday evening, input was received from Trilan Lyngdoh Mawnai, Sordar of Thangmaw village, about discovery of the body of one Shemdras Lyngdoh Kynshi (38) in a jungle near the village by a woman who went to the river. It appears to be a murder case as the victim had been struck with a blunt object, the SP said.
Acting on a tip off from reliable sources, swift action was taken and a team from Mairang Police Station led by the officer in-charge arrested the suspect, Rajis Warjri (40) of Thangmaw village on Wednesday morning. Upon interrogation the accused admitted to the crime.
