Online fraud
Ram Niwas Mishra lodged a complaint that on May 7, he was cheated of Rs 10,608 while making an online transaction.
S Nongrum of Umlangpur village under Khanapara PS, Ri-Bhoi lodged a complaint that she purchased one mobile phone through OLX and transferred money through PayTM in the account of one Sirendra Singh. However, she is yet to receive the mobile phone. The complainant also stated that the accused misused her EPIC which was sent through WhatsApp as instructed earlier.
Preena Jhunjhunwala lodged a complaint on June 25 that on May 24, she ordered 1000 plastic bottles on payment of money from M/s Shrudharlal Trading Pvt. Ltd (which is one of the suppliers in SUI-NE start-ups WhatsApp group). However, the plastic bottles were not delivered till date.

Laptop recovered
On June 26, Jhalupara police recovered one laptop from the possession of one Hasmat Ali (26), who revealed that he bought the laptop for Rs 500 from one person known as ‘Bura’.

Theft
Ibansiewdor Lyngwa lodged a complaint that on June 24, miscreants broke into her residence at Mawlai Mawiong and stole Rs 3 lakh.
Dev Anand Hajong lodged a complaint that while he was away, miscreants broke into his house near Crinoline, Shillong and stole Rs 7,000.
Ruhipaia Shadap lodged a complaint that on June 24 around 7 am, he found that eleven cattle were missing from a cowshed at Moopala village, East Jaintia Hills.

Assault
Pynioolad Lapasam lodged a complaint that on June 24 around 6.30 pm, five persons — Wot Siangshai, Dawni Nongtdu, Wanbiang Muksor, Biang Rymbai and Bor Dkhar, assaulted her husband at Mynkre village in East Jaintia Hills.
On June 24 around 7 pm, one Chiranjit Koch (22) and others assaulted Ranjit Mahanto (60) of Gandhipara-A village in South West Garo Hills. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Tura Civil Hospital. In this connection, police apprehended Chiranjit Koch and his brother Opesh Koch.
