SHILLONG: Indigo Airlines is yet to resume its Shillong-Kolkata flight from Umroi airport despite approval of the Centre and the state government.
Sources in AAI said that Indigo Airlines has not yet confirmed as to when they would start the service even as the airport is ready for it.
“We are trying to see that the service starts at the earliest as passengers are facing difficulties,” a source said.
A few months back, the state government had permitted Indigo Airlines to resume operation.
Meanwhile, travel agency websites are showing that flights would be available from Shillong to Kolkata from August 1, but the airline is yet to communicate its plans to Airports Authority of India in this regard.
The service between Shillong and Kolkata was suspended following the imposition of lockdown throughout the country due to the pandemic.
