KHLIEHRIAT: Pointing at road connectivity and healthcare facilities, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Narpuh Circle slammed the state government for failing to usher in development activities in Indo-Bangla border areas.
In this connection, the KSU informed that the road from Sunapur to Lejri, Huroi till Hingaria is very crucial for the locals as well as the BSF.
“Seeing the plight of the people in the border areas of East Jaintia Hills, we should also support the SBYWA for annexation with Bangladesh since the state government has not shown care for them”, the KSU added.
The Southern Border Youth Welfare Association (SBYWA) had recently asked the state government to provide the border areas with basic development activities, and if it could not, the residents would approach the Bangladesh government.
