Urkaliar Dorbar demands footpath to prevent littering

SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong Urkaliar has shot off a letter to Cabinet Minister and Pynthorumkhrah MLA, AL Hek demanding construction of a footpath in the locality to prevent people from dumping garbage in the area.
In the letter, the signatories stated that construction of a footpath will not only benefit the pedestrians but will also discourage locals from dumping garbage and polluting the area.
The letter states that the entire stretch of the roadside is covered with thick vegetation and looks very untidy and wasted.
Construction of a footpath will also promote cleanliness of the area and ensure safety of the commuters.
