SHILLONG: The case pertaining to the examination of the Meghalaya Civil Service, junior grade was taken up via video conferencing by the High Court of Meghalaya on Monday.
During the hearing, the petitioners brought to the knowledge of the court that as many as 417 candidates who sat for the mains examination held in January scored less marks than the petitioners.
The counsel for the petitioners, P. Yobin sought a week’s times to file the recast petition with complete tabulation of marks as received from RTI reply.
The matter will be heard next week. The MPSC had advertised recruitment of MCS junior grade officers and given out examination pattern.
However, the same was changed without notifying and this had irked the candidates, who had filed a petition in the court challenging the change in pattern of examination without notification.
They had also filed an RTI query according to which information was received that hundreds of candidates who scored less than the petitioners were allowed to sit for the mains.
