KHLIEHRIAT: East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday informed that all eligible borrowers in the district can avail the Guaranteed Emergency Credit Line (GECL) facility.
The Finance Ministry had recently informed the state government that out of 7,947 eligible loan accounts under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS), 2,198 accounts have been sanctioned, out of which 1,178 have been disbursed.
The scheme provides 100 per cent guarantee coverage by National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Ltd (NCGTC) to eligible institutions for providing GECL facility, which may be up to 20 per cent of the outstanding of eligible borrowers.
A government statement issued on Tuesday said that India has funded up to Rs 3-lakh crore through the scheme to eligible MSMEs and interested MUDRA borrowers who have been affected by the lockdown in view of COVID-19.
