Red Cross elects office-bearers 
SHILLONG: The state branch of Indian Red Cross Society has elected new-office bearers with RG Lyngdoh as chairman, two vice-chairmen Lt. Col. S Kumar (Retd) and A Swer and AN Sawian as General Secretary. The committee will have P Chokhani as Treasurer and 10-member EC comprising HU Laskar, GA Warjri, K Joshi, MPR Lyngdoh, AS Rangad, RO Wallang, W Lyngdoh, A Goenka, C Massar and HH Shabong.

Miscreants cut Airtel cable
MAWKYRWAT: Unidentified miscreants recently cut the Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) cable of Airtel in its tower at Mawranglang village, near here. According to the FIR filed by the Airtel distributor Mawkyrwat, Donboklang L Nonglait, the incident took place on July 1. “The cost of the CPRI cable is Rs19,000,” Nonglait said.

Training on COVID-19 management
TURA: A three-day training on COVID-19 management for government employees of line departments of South West Garo Hills District kick-started on Tuesday at Ampati multi-facility centre. A medical panel comprising of Dr M Noreen Sangma, DIO,SWGH and Dr Mikrak Sangma, M&HO, SWGH, has been imparting training in four batches to teams constituted by concerned government departments and stakeholders.

List of rejected candidates published
KHLIEHRIAT: The Member Secretary, District Selection Committee, East Jaintia Hills, has informed that the rejected list of candidates who had applied for Grade-III post in the District Selection Committee, EJH, has been displayed in the office notice board of the EJH DC. “With regard to any objection to the rejected applications, applicants can file their petition in person before the Office of the Member Secretary, District Selection Committee, EJH on or before July 30 during office hours,” a statement said.
