NONGSTOIN: After carrying out an inspection at Nongstoin-Rambrai road, the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) has sought the intervention of local MLA of Rambrai constituency, Kimfa Marbaniang, and local MDC of Rambrai constituency, to take up the matter with the state government.
The FKJGP, after the inspection, alleged that the road is in a miserable condition, especially at Mawrusyiar village.
FKJGP president, Jistarlan Lyngkhoi, lamenting that the concerned authorities do not care about the road, claimed that vehicles plying on this road mostly get stuck.
He also said that passengers, especially the sick and pregnant women, face hurdles before reaching hospitals on time.
Deploring the fact that the previous pleas had fallen on deaf ears, Lyngkhoi claimed that the FKJGP had written letters in this regard to the executive engineer PWD (Road), Nongstoin Division, seeking repair.
He also said that before completing the construction of the two-lane road from Nongstoin to Kyrshai via Rambrai, the government should first take into consideration the construction of the Nongstoin-Rambrai road.
