Minister inaugurates community hall

SHILLONG: Urban Affairs Minister Hamletson Dohling inaugurated the Community Hall at Pomlum, 7th Mile in Upper Shillong on Friday. The hall was constructed under NEEPCO’s CSR&S Scheme 2019-2020 at Rs 10 lakh.
The function was attended by officials of NEEPCO, Shillong, Headman of Pomlum, A Lyngdoh, secretary B Rynjah, treasurer W Rymbai, besides heads of various localities and villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Dohling lauded NEEPCO for extending financial support to the Dorbar Shnong that implemented the scheme accordingly.
He urged the villagers to maintain the building as it is their property. According to Dohling, the inauguration of this community hall was part of the commemoration of the 185th death anniversary of U Tirot Sing Syiem.
On the occasion, minister and the Dorbar Shnong also felicitated two gold medalists of the Meghalaya Games 2020,  Ephisha Susngi  (Archery) and Ibansabet Myrthong (Wushu).
