Mawkyrwat: With the number of COVID-19 cases increasing in East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi district, South West Khasi Hills deputy commissioner, Isawanda Laloo has advised the people of the district to refrain from unnecessary travel to these districts.
“Any persons frequenting Shillong city on non-avoidable business especially to commercial areas and those visiting hospital for medical treatment are to strictly adhere to protocols given by the Health department and to ensure that they maintain social distancing and wear mask at all times and practise hand and respiratory hygiene,” Laloo said.
Laloo also said that all government staff and officials are to refrain from unnecessary travel and will submit an undertaking to the head of department prior to any movement as per guidelines.
“If anyone is complaining of any symptoms such as coughing, fever and breathlessness, they need to immediately report to the DC’s office control room or to the emergency number 108,” Laloo said.
