KV Tura shines in CBSE
TURA: Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tura, has achieved cent per cent result in the CBSE Class X and XII Board examinations held recently.  Informing this here, Principal, R Giri Sankaran Thampi, congratulated the students and teachers for the achievement.

Man missing
SHILLLONG: The Superintendent of West Khasi Hills on Monday informed that Kolbi Lyngkhoi (22), resident of Pyndengrei, Nongstoin, has been missing from his workplace — Apollo Proton Cancer Center Hospital — in Chennai and has not returned since October, 2019. Lyngkhoi is five feet three inches tall, has a swarthy complexion and a distinct tattoo of Jesus on his neck, the SP said in a statement issued here. Persons with information about his whereabouts can contact the SP (9436103993), officer in-charge of Nongstoin Police (8787714710) or the Police Control Room, Nongstoin (9366498499).

WKH extends night curfew
NONGSTOIN: West Khasi Hills District Magistrate has extended the night curfew in the district till July 27. The curfew will be in effect from 9pm to 5am. The District Magistrate has also informed that all restrictions, exemptions and advisories will remain the same as per earlier order.

Cops rescue GH abductee
SHILLONG: A joint team of South West Garo Hills and West Garo Hills Police on Monday rescued a man who was abducted between July 17-18. According to a police statement, one Md Abdul Rohim (55) from Mahendraganj, South West Garo Hills, was abducted by unknown persons from Rongsang Abagre bridge construction site, in South West Garo Hills. It was only after this that the joint team under West Garo Hills SP, MG Raghvendra Kumar and South West Garo Hills SP, Rituraj Ravi, was constituted. Search operations were then launched by the team and the abductee was succesfully rescued from Dombagre Reserve Forest in South West Garo Hills on Monday. In this connection, the mastermind and his accomplices were apprehended from Tura and from South West Garo Hills.
