Jowai locality declared as containment zone

JOWAI: Newhill, a locality in Jowai town was declared as a containment zone on Saturday after a resident tested positive.
West Jaintia Hills deputy commissioner in an order issued here on Saturday declared the locality as a containment zone for the interest and safety of other residents of Newhill Jowai under Ladthadlaboh PHC.
No one will be allowed to move out or enter the containment zone except those under medical emergencies. No gathering or any events are allowed.
In West Jaintia Hills, villages under Amlarem Sub-Division including Amlarem, Krangpamtdong, Amsarin, Lad-Japlem, Amshipai, Lad-Lyngdoh and Amlatdoh were previously declared as containment zones.
