WKH review meet discusses schemes
NONGSTOIN: The committee members of the District Water & Sanitation Mission (DWSM) under the Jal Jevan Mission met on Tuesday at the Conference Hall, DC’s Office, Nongstoin, to review the ongoing schemes implemented in West Khasi Hills district. The meeting was attended by the local MLA, BDO Nongstoin, EE PHE and other line departments. SE, PHE, western circle, RS Nongbri, member secretary of the committee, informed that the objective of the mission is to provide connectivity to every household in rural areas. He further set a target to complete the mission within the current financial year. He added that 251 villages have been placed for approval under DWSM. The need for health centres, schools and polling stations to be included in the scheme was also stressed upon during the meet.

DCs invite nominations for award
NONGPOH/KHLIEHRIAT:  The deputy commissioners of Ri Bhoi and East Jaintia Hills, on Tuesday, invited nominations for the national award — Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar Award — for the year 2021. The award is given in recognition of the excellent work done by individuals and institutions in the field of disaster management. The nominations can be submitted at dmawards.ndma.gov.in within August 31.
