TURA: Apart from the Tura Civil Hospital and Dalu Community Health Centre, a private medical testing centre, Golden Heart diagnostic centre, in Tura has also been sealed on Wednesday.
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh announced that both Out Patient Department (OPD) and Emergency Services of the hospital would remain closed for two days for contact tracing and sanitisation after a patient brought from Dalu with a heart ailment and referred to NEIGHRIMS in Shillong for further tests, was found positive along with his wife who was the attendant during tests in Shillong. “A total of 78 people are undergoing RT-PCR currently,” informed deputy commissioner while speaking to The Shillong Times on Wednesday.
Out of the 78 identified for the testing, a majority (56) are from Tura alone.
Meanwhile, there was good news for concerned medics of Dalu CHC where the heart patient, who later developed COVID-19, had paid a visit. Singh clarified that tests undertaken of both primary and secondary contacts have turned out negative on Wednesday.
“Tests carried out on the Dalu CHC and also the family of the infected person, have turned out negative,” said the DC.
The Dalu CHC had earlier been sealed for contact tracing and sanitisation.
