Sohpian-Nongstoin road sanctioned

NONGSTOIN: The long-awaited 7-km road from Sohpian to Nongstoin under NH-44E was sanctioned and the tender will be floated within this week, Macmillan Byrsat, MLA of Nongstoin informed the pressmen here on Monday.
The road from Sohpian to Nongstoin happens to be one of the major roads for the people of Nongstoin as it connects NH-44E to Nongstoin town.
Macmillan Byrsat, MLA of Nongstoin, said that after several attempts to approach the concerned authority, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has finally informed that the said road has been sanctioned.
Byrsat also expressed gratitude to Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, as well as the PWD department for playing a major role in bringing development in Nongstoin despite the crises brought about by the pandemic.
Byrsat also announced that the 4-km road at Mawlangniang was sanctioned under state plan.
He also said that earlier the PWD department had sanctioned 3-km road from Urkali to Nongdom, which includes metalling and blacktopping.
