6 more of COVID 19 in Assam, 4593 new cases detected

GUWAHATI:  Six more persons died of COVID-19 in Assam  on Wednesday  taking the death toll up to  161  till date.

Sharing the information, Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet tonight identified the deceased as  Himangshu Dey (70) of Cachar, Debabrata Choudhury (49) of Karimganj, Dhaneswar Sharma (56) of Dhemaji, Biswajit Ghosh (53) and Mahesh Baruah (60) of Dibrugarh and  M I Hussain (58) of Kamrup Metro

 Meanwhile, 4593 COVID cases detected out of 143109 (maximum) tests done in a single day with positivity rate just 3.20%.  Of the new cases  632 are in Kamrup (M), 460 in Kamrup (R), 355 in Nagaon and 265 in  Dibrugarh.

As many as 2136 patients were discharged from various COVID care centres and hospitals in the state today.
