North East Food Show 2019 awarded
SHILLONG: The North East Food Show 2019 on Friday won a Silver Experiential Marketing Award for the ‘Best B2B Programme of the Year’ at Wow Awards Asia 2020. According to a statement, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma termed the award as a landmark event and a potential turning point in the transformational journey of Meghalaya as the ‘Food Innovation Hub’ of the region. “As the only government entry to make it to the finals, it is high honour indeed for the Government of Meghalaya and the Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE) supported by the Directorate of Food Processing (DOFP), to be awarded on the same platform with the giants of the Exhibition and MICE industry,” the statement said.
BSF launches special operations
SHILLONG: The BSF, despite battling COVID-19 pandemic, in order to ensure heightened security and vigil at the International border, has launched special operations for which manpower at all the BOPs has been augmented by sending additional troops from the headquarters. UK Nayal, DIG/PRO BSF, Meghalaya said that the BSF troops are guarding the border in spite of tough and treacherous terrain defying the weather conditions in remote areas of Meghalaya.
