State gets first-of-its-kind flag mast

SHILLONG: In a first for the state, the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Umiam, installed a 20-metre high motorised flag (Tricolour) mast with winching system at its campus, which was inaugurated during the celebration of the Independence Day.
RM Kurbah, Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi, inaugurated the flag mast and also hoisted the Tricolour on the occasion.
In her address, the deputy commissioner congratulated PLN Raju, NESAC Director and his team for having the masterpiece installed at NESAC while offering best wishes for the Independence Day.
The CISF and Meghalay Home Guard contingent of NESAC gave the guard of honour to the deputy commissioner Kurbah on the day.
The NESAC director, during his address, spoke about the activities taken by NESAC for the development of the region for the past one year besides projects to be undertaken in future.
