Motorcycle stolen
Puron A Sangma lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of August 19 and 20, unknown miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-05S-1327) from his residence at Nongmensong, Dongkamon, Shillong.
Cheating case
Raju Kumar Rai lodged a complaint that on August 17 evening, following an advertisement in OLX posted by one Ram Raj Singh, regarding sale of one scooty (NH-15EN-1502), he contacted Singh as he was interested to purchase the scooty. The complainant had also paid Rs 38,000 through Google Pay. Later, he realised that he has been cheated.
Illegal areca nut transport
On August 17 around 2.30 am, during mobile patrolling duty from Umkiang to Malidor, Police detected one truck (RJ-02GC-1211). Later, the driver, Surjit Singh and his helper, Ram Das stated that the truck was loaded with dried black pepper with an invoice and e-way bill dated August 15 in which dried pepper was mentioned as the transported item. However, on thorough checking of the truck, sacks of dried areca nuts were found beneath the sacks of dried black pepper. The truck driver could not produce any documents related with the dried areca nuts.
