SHILLONG: In a peculiar incident, a driver of a private vehicle (ML 05 T 3200) spat on two persons on board a scooty in the city on Thursday afternoon amid rising fears over the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 disease.
One SK Momin, a resident of Rilbong, who was the pillion rider, has also filed a complaint against the errant driver with Laitumkhrah Police Station.
In the complaint, Momin informed that after the driver spat on the duo, they followed it and confronted the driver while en route.
“The driver simply smiled, said sorry unapologetically and drove off very fast without bothering to even give an explanation for his un-civic behaviour, especially with the current case scenario of COVID-19”, she said.
Momin sought stern action against the driver asking the police to penalise him as per law.
