Cop tests COVID-19 positive, outpost sealed

SHILLONG: Subsequent to a police official testing positive for COVID-19 during random testing, the Malangkona Police Outpost in West Khasi Hills was temporary sealed on Wednesday.
IGP (Administration), GK Iangrai, informed that the medical team of Riangdo PHC conducted a random test on Wednesday at Malangkona village where around 72 cops underwent the rapid antigen test.
He said that out of the total number of police officials, one was tested positive for COVID-19.
On being tested positive, the police official was immediately placed under medical observation and the other officials of Malangkhona outpost have also been placed under mandatory quarantine.
As a precautionary measure, necessary protocols were observed to disinfect the outpost premises.
Meanwhile, the general public residing within the jurisdiction of Malangkhona outpost have been asked to approach Aradonga Outpost for necessary assistance and for official works until the situation at Malangkhona Police Outpost limps back to normalcy.
