‘Mukherjee’s demise loss for nation’

SHILLONG: On a day when India bid adieu to erstwhile President Pranab Mukherjee, the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Tuesday condoled the death of Mukherjee, saying that his demise is a great loss for the nation.
Mukherjee passed away on Monday evening following a 21-day battle with multiple ailments. He was 84. The former president, who was cremated on Tuesday, was given a ceremonial send-off in accordance with COVID-19 protocols, with visors, face shields, masks and the number of people at the Lodhi Road crematorium strictly restricted.
Recalling Mukherjee’s achievements, the MPCC also send condolences to the bereaved families.
