JN sports complex upgradation by August 22

GUWAHATI: The Meghalaya Government will complete the process of up-gradation of the sports facility at the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex in Shillong by August 2022.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has informed that the preliminary designs are completed for the up-gradation of sports facilities at J N Stadium and the tender will be issued by mid-October 2020.

‘Have directed the Dept. to present the final designs by this week & ensure that the Stadium is inaugurated by Aug 2022,’ Sangma tweeted.

Earlier, the Government of Meghalaya approved an amount of Rs. 125 crore for the up-gradation of the sports facility at the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex.

Meanwhile, Sangma also reviewed the progress of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly building construction. The structural work will be completed this year and the interiors in the next 8 months, Sangma further said. The tentative date for completion of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly building is set for March 2021.
