SHILLONG: In the wake of the alleged illegality in holding office by the NEHUTA, the North-Eastern Hill University, on Monday, said that the term of the executive committee (2019-20) of the NEHUTA expired in May this year and that the functioning of the committee is “unconstitutional”.
The university alleged that despite knowing that the tenure of the Committee, including that of the president and general secretary, was over, the officials continued to sign and quote themselves purportedly as president and general secretary of NEHUTA in all notifications, letters et al, from mid-May till date.
“This is tantamount to manipulation and also violation of the NEHUTA constitution, which may invite disciplinary actions as per University laws”.
