Shullai announces monetary aid

SHILLONG: South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai on Tuesday announced a financial relief for the BPL families affected by COVID-19 and the Aganwadi and Asha workers recommended by the local COVID-19 committee.
Shullai made the announcement during a meeting that deliberated over various COVID-19-related issues.
The meeting, which was held at Laban Indoor Sports Stadium, was held with an aim to discuss and adopt acceptable and practical decisions with regard to people’s difficulties and livelihood, to reduce fear and chaos, to address stigmatisation while ensuring safety of citizen’s lives.
During the meeting, resolutions were adopted and forwarded to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma with regard to identification and micro-sizing containment zones, prioritising testing for primary and high-risk individuals and those who are symptomatic, creating more isolation centres, and rendering financial aid for COVID committee.
The meeting was attended by Director of Health Services Dr. Aman War and DHMO Dr Basaiawmoit among others.
