Programme on domestic violence

NONGSTOIN: Women police personnel of Nongstoin Women Police Station, under the leadership of WP/SI N. Wanniang, conducted an awareness programme on Crimes against Women and Children including Domestic Violence, at Pyndenglawar village, West Khasi Hills District.
During the programme, various aspects of the POCSO Act and the Domestic Violence Act were discussed with the attendees.
Methods of prevention of these malignant crimes were also discussed amidst the meet.
During the programme, the attendees and the general public were encouraged to report crimes as soon as they are discovered without delay, so as to initiate the process of investigation at the earliest-possible time.
